While Basketball Operations runs the league’s on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world’s most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of WNBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the WNBA’s success.
 
Reporting to the Growth Strategy Lead, this position is part of a growing Partnerships team at the WNBA. This role will support the WNBA’s sponsorship fulfillment efforts with the goal of delivering best-in-class solutions to the league’s partner roster and, when it makes sense, driving incremental revenue through large-scale, integrated marketing partnerships.
 
Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of existing WNBA partners, including working closely with account managers to ensure quality and timely servicing of partner needs
  • Assist in revenue generation the WNBA by assessing current partnerships and determining potential incremental integrated marketing opportunities that incorporate WNBA IP, media, events, and other benefits/opportunities
  • Assist Growth Strategy Lead in being a central conduit for WNBA Team partnership evaluations, including working closely with Team Business and Marketing Operations (TMBO) on interpretation of the operations manual for team partnership leads
  • Support stakeholders at the League and Team level in maintaining a deep knowledge of sponsorship activity in priority categories and have a finger on the pulse of emerging categories
  • Assist with developing and delivering customized presentations and proposals for League partner conversations
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support the development of customized WNBA marketing platforms (e.g., Media, Activation, Social Responsibility) that align with partners’ objectives and serve as a WNBA subject matter expert across the organization
  • Support the negotiation process for partnership renewals
  • Maintain reporting on partner campaigns and activations to ensure timely updates to WNBA leadership and members of the multi-property partnerships team
  • Build and support relationships within the sports marketing and agency world
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and provide recommendations for new and creative commercial opportunities and assets that align with the WNBA’s growth strategy

 
Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or partnerships at a league, team or agency
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Salary Range: [[$80,000 – $90,000]]
